The Project is an approximately 446 km double-circuit 230 kilovolt transmission line from the Wawa Transformer Station (TS) to the Lakehead TS in the Municipality of Shuniah, near Thunder Bay, ON, with a connection approximately mid-way at the Marathon TS. The Project will also require new and improved access roads and temporary laydown and work areas.
The Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change approved the Terms of Reference for the new East-West Tie Project Individual Environmental Assessment on August 28, 2014. NextBridge has commenced and is continuing with activities supporting the Environmental Assessment under the Environmental Assessment Act for the new East-West Tie Project.
